I wish they would have been added in a little better or included separately at the beginning or end of the book or something instead of throughout the book. My favorite part is the line drawings that start each chapter. The vocabulary was higher than expected, for sure turns out, it's a level 6.
Some of the book is different from the movie. This books was featured on The Keepers of the Books' Weekly Reads 8 episode. I have just two complaints. Pages are intact and are not marred by notes or highlighting, but may contain a neat previous owner name. But mostly cracked me up. I like that this story has the main character being a strong female who can lead culturally correct or not.
To be honest, I'm not sure what, exactly, I expected the writing quality to be, but it really was stellar. The last three quarters or so of the book were very well written and absolutely amazing. Her father, however, wants her to take over as Chieftess of their village. Drift to sleep as Tiana wishes on an evening star. It includes original content in the form of mini folk tales interspersed throughout the story of the film. It can stand alone without the movie, but is a perfect opportunity for a reader or reluctant reader to read a book of an already well loved movie.

Help Cinderella and the mice search for a sparkly ring. In between some of the chapters are the some of the myths embedded into the plot of the movie. The story is pretty true to the movie and even includes some fun temporary tattoos in the back. But this year, we found a 300-page book that told the story of Moana extremely well. The short stories throughout the book were a little distracting from the storyline of the book but they were a nice touch.

The beginning wasn't exactly like the movie and it needed more details and explanations because it was a little hard to follow but once I got part the first quarter or so of the book it was amazing. I loved this movie when I saw it and I was hoping I would enjoy this book as much as I did the movie.
