Despite this book being about ghosts, this is not a creepy story, and Rain was such a funny character that I really enjoyed being in his head for a few hours. It'll be fun, he said. Lastly Rain's 'powers' had me scratching my head in the 'mystery'-portion of the book. And Ethan is one hell of a secondary character! Danny on the other hand. The thing is: I don't do babies.
~ Rain going off half-cocked in the last few chapters: This was so out of character. I'm happier for the guidance and in addition trust you comprehend what a powerful job your are putting in instructing many others using your blog. He's insightful and I enjoyed discovering right alongside him just how much he misses home and all that that entails. A particularly shrill beep made me pause. It kept me guessing for a good while. I doubt she wants us talking to her daughter. And I just became his caregiver. When I saw she had a new book coming out that was paranormal, I was a tad surprised but at the same time, very anxious to see what she'd come up with. My spouse and I absolutely love your blog and find almost all of your post's to be what precisely I'm looking for. And he's dead set on looking out for me even when things in my life suddenly get complicated.
Id give it more stars if I could. After reuniting on a cold case three years later, the walls began to crumble as trust began to form - open, honest and at times, hard to comprehend communication! If the romance just had a tad more hearts and flowers, this book would have been perfect. I liked it so much, I wish there was a sequel. And while the ghost aspect is interesting it's not a clanking of chains, feel my pain kind of haunting. I missed the bit in the blurb about them being exs, so was pleased to feel the strong connection between them. Daniel McKenna is a detective working cold cases in Brickell Bay. New-to-me narrator Noah Michael Levine does a good job overall.
And I was really missing some romantic parts in this romance. Now, they just need to learn to actually talk to one another, and to really trust each other - even with the things they don't want to share. I listened to the audio book and found it very interesting and the narration kept me engrossed in the story and characters. The writing when they were trying to solve the murder made me feel as if I was right there with them, transported in their world. Hopeful for more but happy with where it ends. Right from the start you could feel the chemistry between Rain and Danny. They were an amazing cast of supporting characters. The ghosts had so many different personalities, from pervy Ethan who was really hoping to catch Danny and Ethan fucking each other silly, to the devious old lady to tricked Rain into helping her, to the scared victims who wanted their families to get some closure.
But their previous investigation poked a new danger with a stick, forcing Jackson and Ellery to leave town, so they can meet the snake in its den. Most of all I loved Rain's self-deprecating sarcasm and snarky humour. Hell, I'd been so sure of our failure, I put entire states between us. He's given one last chance to redeem himself and is given a choice of cold cases to investigate. I haven't read anything by S. I'm a self diagnosed banter whore.
